Visa Application

Visitors entering the Republic of Korea (ROK) must hold a valid passport and visa to enter the country.
Nationals of visa waivers or visa-free countries may enter the country without a visa for tourism purposes only. For any other purpose, such as employment or education, proper visas are required.
Nationals of non-visa waiver countries must apply for visas at the nearest Korean embassy or consulate prior to entering the ROK.
Countries that are granted visa-free entry for general passport holders. Nationals of the following countries are allowed to enter and stay in ROK for up to 30 days of visa-free sojourn for tourism or visitation.

Citizen of a country under Visa exemption agreement with the Republic of Korea who plans to engage in activities in accordance with the agreement.

A citizen of Japan can visit Republic of Korea without a visa for up to 90 days, for tour, visiting, commercial purposes, attending a meeting or short-term journalism.
Those who intend to engage in any type of lucrative activities or employment should obtain an appropriate visa.

A person who plans to stay for a short period of time on the purpose of visiting relatives, investing in public business, participating in a non-official sport games, attending events or meetings, performing cultural art, engaging in a training, taking lessons, attending a religious ceremony, collecting documents for academic research, or any other equivalent activities.

Nationals eligible for K-ETA, who wish to enter the Republic of Korea without a visa, must obtain K-ETA approval before boarding the flight or ship.
The K-ETA fee is 10,000 KRW (approximately USD $7-8, online payment fee is charged separately) and is non-refundable, even if the application is denied.
K-ETA assessment typically takes 72 hours or less. However, please note that it may take more than 72 hours due to an unexpected increase in application or other circumstances.

The invitation letter for obtaining a Korean visa is issued in the name of Korean Nuclear Society hosting society.
Invitation letter is ONLY available to those who have completed online registration and paid the registration fee.
Invitation letter for visa issuance does not include financial support for attendees, only information for visa issuance is written.
Application for issuance of invitation letter must be made to the WORTH-12 Secretariat by email (reg@worth-12.org) with a copy of passport.
A copy of the invitation letter in PDF format will be emailed to the applicant for verification prior to sending the original.
WORTH-12 secretariat will send the original letter with a copy of the business certificate of the hosting society to the applicant through the EMS service of the post office within 3 weeks (on demand).

If you need to receive a notarized invitation letter to apply for a visa, you must request it by email at reg@worth-12.org.
Notarized letters will be sent by airmail (EMS) within a month of request.
The notarized invitation letter is ONLY available to those who have completed online registration and paid the registration fee.
It costs about $150 for notarization and overseas mail delivery, and the exact amount and payment method will be notified separately.
